Medium is the size most Rolex models are delivered in, from Datejust to Submariner. Larger cases such as the Deepsea usually come in a roomier box. If you are unsure whether your watch will fit, get in touch with its reference and we will check for you.

Does every Rolex model fit in this box?

Medium is the size most Rolex models are delivered in, from Datejust to Submariner. Larger cases such as the Deepsea usually come in a roomier box. If you are unsure, get in touch with the reference number of your watch.

Why does the original box count towards the value?

A watch with its box and papers is known in the trade as a full set. Collectors pay more for one, because it supports the provenance and because a complete example is rarer than the watch alone. If the box is missing, an original box can still complete it.

Does another brand fit in it as well?

Physically, any watch of ordinary case size fits on the cushion. When selling, a box only counts if it matches the brand: a Rolex box under an Omega adds nothing and is more likely to raise questions.

How do I recognise an original Rolex box?

By the finish of the relief on the lid, the quality of the lining and the fit of the cushion. Counterfeit boxes exist and cannot always be told apart in a photograph. You are welcome to come and see it in Utrecht.

Does it come with a cushion?

Yes, the cushion the watch fastens around is included. The photographs show the box exactly as it is supplied.

Can I also use the box to store a watch?

You can. A watch you are not wearing is better off in a box than loose in a drawer: the crystal stays free of scratches and the bracelet keeps its shape. Store it dry and out of direct sunlight.
