A year's guarantee on the movement
If anything goes wrong with the running movement within a year, we put it right. Damage from drops, water or your own interventions is not covered.
The terms
Speedmaster, Seamaster, Constellation and the classics in between. Everything listed here we bought and checked ourselves, with photos of the watch you get and a year's guarantee on the movement.
Our stock consists of what we buy ourselves, so it changes. Tell us which Omega you are looking for and in which version and we will keep it in mind as soon as one comes in. Below is what else to watch for on this brand.
Omega makes watches that are worn a great deal, and it shows. On a pre-owned Omega the question is therefore not only how it looks but also when it was last serviced, and by whom. We state what we know and what we have had done ourselves.
At most luxury brands a service receipt is a pleasant extra. At Omega it is practical information, because these watches are genuinely worn: travelling, in the water, daily. A fifteen-year-old Seamaster that has never been serviced is a different watch from the same reference with a service two years ago.
From 1999 Omega introduced a different kind of escapement with less friction. That is engineering you notice nothing of as the wearer, but it does change who can service it: not every watchmaker works on them. On a watch with that movement we state what we know of its history.
The state of the bezel, and on a dive watch whether it still turns and clicks evenly. On a Speedmaster, whether the counters reset cleanly to zero. And the stretch in the bracelet, because that tells you more honestly how often a watch has been worn than the case does.
At a brand that is genuinely worn, the information sits in the wear parts. Whatever comes out of that is in the description.
If there is a service receipt, it is included, with the date and who did the work. A service at Omega itself says more than one at an unknown workshop. If we do not know, we write that too rather than imply anything.
On a Seamaster the bezel rotates and that is a wear part: it should turn evenly, with audible clicks and without play. On the generations with ceramic, damage takes the form of small chipped edges rather than scratches, and you only see those close up.
Start, stop, and a clean reset to zero. If a counter stops just short of zero, that can be put right but it belongs in the listing. On the hand-wound versions we also check that winding runs smoothly without catching.
On older Omegas parts were replaced at services, and back then that happened without anything being written down. A replaced dial does not make a watch bad, but it does make it something other than an original example, and that difference ought to be visible.
If something in the description is not clear, just ask. We would rather explain what a service receipt means than have you guess at it.
Warranty and authenticity
At a brand worn as much as this one, the history is the most interesting part of the description. We write down what we know and stay silent about nothing we do not. That sometimes makes a listing less flattering and the purchase far more predictable.
These three apply to every watch you buy from us, whatever the brand or the amount.
If anything goes wrong with the running movement within a year, we put it right. Damage from drops, water or your own interventions is not covered.

Sell your SeamasterThe stock follows what we buy and so changes continually. Below, each model sets out what to watch for on a used example.
The Speedmaster is the chronograph the brand is known for, and there are generations that look much alike in a photo but have different movements. If you want to buy a pre-owned Speedmaster, ask about the reference and about the chronograph: does it start, does it stop, and do the counters reset cleanly to zero.
The Seamaster is the dive line and runs from a hundred and fifty to twelve hundred metres of water resistance, with a wave pattern on some generations and not on others. When buying a pre-owned Seamaster the bezel is the most important wear part: it should turn evenly with audible clicks.
Moonwatch is the name for the Speedmaster with a hand-wound movement and a solid or a display caseback, depending on the version. On a pre-owned example we check that winding runs smoothly and that the crystal is still the right type, because on this model it has been replaced more often than on others.
The Constellation is recognisable by the four claws on the case and comes in steel, two-tone and gold. On a pre-owned Constellation we look at the state of those claws and at the bracelet, because on the integrated versions loose links are not always to be had any more.
At Omega a service receipt is no incidental but practical information. We state when a watch was last serviced and by whom, where we know. Where we do not, that is stated too, because an assumption about servicing is exactly what you do not want to buy.
Since 1999 Omega has used a different kind of escapement with less friction. As the wearer you notice nothing of it, but it does change who can service it, because not every watchmaker works on them. On a watch with that movement it is stated in the description.
We are at Amsterdamsestraatweg 251 in Utrecht and that is our only premises. On Wednesday and Thursday between 12:00 and 17:00 you can walk in without an appointment; all other days by appointment, weekends included. Trying a dive watch on before you buy it helps: the weight works out differently on a wrist than in a photo.
We buy as well, of every brand and in any condition, and there is no minimum value. The page on selling an Omega sets out what we check when buying, with pages of their own for the Speedmaster and the Seamaster.
If there is one, it is included, with the date and who did the work.
If there is no receipt, we write that too. On a twenty-year-old watch that is the rule rather than the exception, and it is better that you know than that we leave it out.
An escapement Omega introduced from 1999 that has less friction than the usual type.
As the wearer you notice nothing of it. What it does change is who can service it, because not every watchmaker works on them. On a watch with that movement it is stated in the description.
Yes, a year on the movement. If anything goes wrong with the running movement within that year, we put it right.
Damage from drops, water or your own interventions is not covered. Beyond that you keep your statutory rights; see warranty and authenticity.
On a dive watch the bezel should turn evenly, with audible clicks and without play. That is in our description and you can feel it for yourself in the showroom.
On the generations with a ceramic insert, damage takes the form of small chipped edges rather than scratches; we take a close-up of those.
If we can establish it, it is stated. On older Omegas parts were replaced at services without anything being written down.
A replaced dial does not make a watch bad, but it does make it something other than an original example. If we cannot be sure, we write that as it is.
Please do. We are at Amsterdamsestraatweg 251 in Utrecht. Wednesday and Thursday without an appointment between 12:00 and 17:00, all other days by appointment.
