Terms of service

Terms and conditions

These terms apply to everything you do with Reuven Watches: buying a watch from us, selling a watch to us, and using this website. Where "we" appears below, we mean Reuven Watches.

2. What these terms apply to

These terms apply to every offer we make and to every agreement we conclude with you. Where a written arrangement says something other than what is here, that arrangement applies. If part of these terms is void or does not apply, the rest continues to hold.

Your statutory rights as a consumer always take precedence. Where these terms would conflict with them, the law applies.

3. The offer and the agreement

Every watch in our web shop is a unique, pre-owned example. Each watch's description states what we have established and what comes with it. If something is not listed, it is not there. We describe the condition as precisely as we can; what we cannot establish with certainty, we say so as well.

The photos with a watch are photos of that watch and not examples of the model. An obvious error or typing mistake in a price or description does not bind us. If we notice such a thing, we let you know before we deliver, and then you may withdraw from the purchase at no cost.

The agreement is concluded as soon as you have placed the order and we have confirmed it.

4. Prices and payment

All prices are in euros and include VAT. The shipping costs are shown at checkout, before you place the order.

In the web shop you can pay with iDEAL, credit card, Bancontact and the other methods offered at checkout. We deliver once payment has been received, unless we have agreed something else with you.

5. Delivery and risk

We deliver within thirty days of the purchase at the latest, unless we have agreed otherwise. If we cannot manage that, you may withdraw from the purchase and we refund within fourteen days.

While the watch is on its way to you, the risk lies with us. It passes to you as soon as you have the watch in your hands. See also our shipping policy.

6. Cooling-off period on a web shop purchase

If you buy at a distance, you have fourteen days to change your mind without giving a reason. How that works is set out in our returns policy and on returns and cooling-off period.

If you buy in our showroom, that statutory cooling-off period does not apply, because you have then seen and worn the watch before deciding.

7. Guarantee and conformity

On every watch we sell we give a year's guarantee on the movement. If anything goes wrong with the running movement within that year, we put it right. Damage from drops, water or your own interventions is not covered, and neither is the routine servicing a mechanical movement needs periodically.

This guarantee comes on top of your statutory rights and does not limit them. You are entitled to a watch that is what we say it is. If it turns out not to be, you can rely on the law, including after that year.

A pre-owned watch carries signs of use. What we have described as its condition and shown in the photos belongs to the watch and is not a fault.

8. When you sell a watch to us

If you sell a watch to us, the following applies.

You declare that you own the watch and are entitled to sell it, and that no pledge, attachment or other right of a third party rests on it. If that turns out not to be so, we may undo the purchase and recover the loss from you.

We are legally obliged to keep a purchase register and to establish the seller's identity. That follows from article 437(1) of the Dutch Criminal Code and the implementing decree under it. We therefore always ask for valid photo ID. Without identification we cannot buy a watch.

An offer from us carries no obligation as long as you have not accepted it. Asking what we would give for a watch costs nothing. If you accept the offer, the sale is concluded and we arrange payment.

If it emerges after the purchase that the watch is materially different from what you stated, we may revisit the purchase.

9. This website

The texts, photos and design on this website belong to us or to our licensors. You may not reproduce or reuse them without our written permission. Brand names and logos of watch brands belong to those brands; we use them only to indicate which watch we are offering or buying. We are not an official dealer or representative of those brands.

We do our best to keep the information on this website correct and current. If you notice an error, do let us know.

10. Your data

What we do with your data is set out in our privacy policy. Data we need for a purchase, including the data in the purchase register, we keep for as long as the law requires.

11. Liability

We are liable for loss resulting from a failure on our part, to the extent the law provides. We do not exclude our liability or limit it further than the law permits.

12. Complaints

If you have a complaint, report it within a reasonable period after discovering the fault, at info@reuvenwatches.com or +31 6 48488925. In most cases we respond within 24 hours and at the latest within fourteen days with a substantive answer. If we need more time to investigate, we say so within that period with an indication of when you will get an answer.

A complaint does not suspend your obligations, unless we indicate otherwise in writing.

13. Governing law and disputes

Dutch law applies to these terms and to our agreements. If we cannot resolve a matter together, you can put the dispute to the competent Dutch court. As a consumer you can always apply to the court of your place of residence.

14. Changes

We may change these terms. The version in force when you concluded an agreement always applies to that agreement.
